The Graphic Engraved watch occupies a unique position in our collection not only because it is offered as a single piece. While the other watches in the Graphic series pay homage to the pared-down aesthetic of the functionalist period, the Engraved adds a decidedly baroque twist to it. Metal engraving is a decorative technique that goes much further back than watchmaking itself. It is hard to imagine the jewellery craft of the last millennium without it. Given that watches were, until recently, pieces of jewellery alongside their practical function of timekeeping, it is not surprising that engraving and horology maintain a very close relationship.

The Graphic Engraved is a shining example of how radically decoration can transform the appearance of a watch. Over a hundred hours of work by a master engraver, as is the case here, can turn an object whose beauty lies in its simplicity into a jewel. It's hard to believe that the Graphic Engraved and Graphic Sutnar share an identical case. To create more space for engraving, however, this model has a redesigned dial and different hands in order to match the overall decorative character of the timepiece better. In addition to the changes to the front, the special display case back provides an impressive view of the engraved bridges of the caliber.

Während die anderen Uhren dieser Reihe die schlichte Ästhetik des Funktionalismus respektieren, präsentiert sich die Engraved in einem direkt barocken, ausgeschmückten Gewand. Die Metallgravur ist eine dekorative Technik, die viel älter ist als die Uhrmacherei. Sie ist aus der Schmuckindustrie des letzten Jahrtausends nicht mehr wegzudenken. Da Uhren bis vor kurzem neben ihrer praktischen Funktion auch Schmuck waren, ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass Gravur und Uhrmacherei zusammengehören.

Die Graphic Engraved ist ein leuchtendes Beispiel dafür, wie Verzierungen das Aussehen einer Uhr verändern können. Mehr als hundert Stunden Arbeit eines Meistergraveurs, wie in diesem Fall, können aus einem Gegenstand ein Schmuckstück machen, dessen Schönheit in seiner Schlichtheit liegt. Es ist kaum zu glauben, dass diese Uhr und das Modell Graphic Sutnar ein völlig identisches Gehäuse haben. Um jedoch mehr Platz für die Gravur zu schaffen, hat dieses Modell ein anderes Zifferblatt. Die neue Form der Zeiger wurde gewählt, um besser zum dekorativen Gesamtcharakter zu passen. Die Rückseite des Modells bietet dank der vergrößerten Sichtlinie einen eindrucksvollen Blick auf das gravierte Brückenwerk.
