Use and CARE

ROBOT
Your ROBOT timepiece will require only a little care and attention.

Here is some basic information about it. If you have any questions or need any advice, we will be more than happy to help you. Just call us on +420 702 293 509 or send an e-mail to servis(at)robot-watch.cz.

WINDING YOUR WATCH

Always wind your watch while taken off your wrist. Winding it on your wrist puts unnecessary strain on the winding stem. With the crown in its basic position, hold it between your thumb and forefinger and turn it repeatedly clockwise until you feel resistance. Do not overwind your watch.

SETTING THE TIME AND DATE

Pull out the crown two little clicks and start turning it clockwise. Keep going until the date changes. This will happen in the 12 o'clock (midnight) position. Continue until the hands show the right time. Push the crown back in.

To correct the date, pull out the crown one little click and turn it anti-clockwise until you reach the correct date. Push the crown back in.

As with all mechanical watches, do not set the date if the hands are between 10 pm and 2 am. Doing so may damage the mechanism. First set the time and then the date.

Now your watch is ready for use.

Water resistance

Your watch is protected against the water with the help of a gasket and sealing, as well as its overall design. You can wash your hands, get wet, or even go for a swim without damaging it. Diving, however, may cause it damage that is not covered by the warranty. The leather strap is not water-resistant. Water-resistance is a temporary property which can be impaired by improper handling. If your watch gets in frequent contact with water, we recommend that it be regularly resealed and pressure tested.

Caring for your watch

The watch does not require any special care. A soft cloth is sufficient for cleaning. To ensure that your watch functions properly, do not expose it to magnetic fields or big jumps in temperature. Mechanical damage, for example, caused by a fall, can damage the mechanism, the case surface and the strap, and impair water resistance. The warranty does not cover defects caused by mechanical damage.

Servicing

From time to time, your watch should be adjusted and inspected. We recommend that you entrust your watch to our experts every five years. They will clean it and make sure the water resistance is up to scratch and the movement is working fine.

Warranty

Manufacturing and/or hidden defects are covered by an 8-year warranty. We strongly recommend that the watch be entrusted to our experts for servicing half way through the warranty period.
